Scynime - Character Gen

One and all~
Space… the final frontier. The time is near that you will have your chance to brave the unknown, to explore new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to bravely go where no man has gone before.
I will be running a Sci-Fi Epic for the THOR community. The scope will be to take characters from one end of the universe to the other over a year worth of game play. The game will touch upon many different genres and will be open for players to slip in and out of games without feeling lost.
Q&A
Q: What system are we using?
A: We will be using the ‘stones system’ for game play adapted from Marvel Universe but modified to suit the ‘sci fi’ nature of the game.
Q: How many stones do we get to create our characters?
A: You don’t. You get zero stones.
Q: How do we create characters then?
A: Please review the ‘Scene 0: The Fall’. After you have read the backdrop of the setting, please create a background story that fits into the grand scheme. The beginning setting will be open ended so if a player shows up in game 3, they will still be able to be thrown into the mix and have a valid reason why they are not there on game 4.You will receive your character sheet to the specifications that you have outlined in your background (up to the maximum stone allocation).
Q: But what if I have a background that I’m a level 9999 Jedi Knight with the Phoenix Force?
A: Then you will think you are and probably die horribly when you open the space lock to go zipping around in the cold emptiness of deep space. There is a pool of stones that all characters have for creation. The character sheet will have all the abilities and skills listed in your background. I will prioritize how many stones dedicated to any given ability and/or skill by your background. I.E. if you want to be a space ninja, you need to describe the years of training that you have undergone. If you have left over stones from your background description, then those will be recorded and given to the character through the game itself (tech gadgets, cybernetic implants, etc.).
Q: But I want to be something that just doesn’t fit in the ‘Scene 0: The Fall’!
A: Do not fret my Ferengi fan-boy! In addition to a background, I am requesting a ‘wish list’ for players. This will be my guide during game play of your wants and wishes. You may end up with a completely new character or you may discover some new alien hardware that allows you to do something off of your wish list. Not all wishes will be granted, far from it, but it gives me a chance to know what YOU want in the game.
Q: Okay, I’m putting my trust in you. How do you want the character information?
A: Character submission is easy. I need a Background and a Wish List. After I get that, I will process both and return to you a character sheet for your consideration. If there are any items that need to be discussed, we can do so at that time. I would like to have a base of at least 4 characters ready to go by mid Jan, though more is always welcomed.
