Well I've been playing some form out D&D since it launched way back when.
This winter i discovered, with the help of a friend, the Dungeon World rules system. I'm hooked! Its not bogged down and weighty with tons of charts and volume after volume of rules. Clean, open, and dialog based. The players help created the world that they adventure in with the guiding hands of the DM who provides the frame work of the world.
No rolls for initiative here. You want to do something you give it a try. Combat is fluid with a natural feel. No sitting and waiting for your turn with Muzak playing and filing your nail as you wait.
Over all its just player friendly with RP as a must! If you don't have an imagination and need every thing spelled out with a chart to back it up, then this is not the game for you.
I hope some of you give this a try. I'm running a game on Thursday nights online every week, we're using Roll20 and web-cams. The table is full as of this posting, but I will in the future run a game from time to time, in person at a table. Either at the Metro Coffee Shop, (late night session after regular closing hours on a Friday or Saturday for two hours or so), MKG's, or if someone wanted to host at their house once in a while.
Anyhow just try the game if your looking for something different and have fun!
